Current Information:Age-28 2 Poets Road, Highbury Loos British Cemetery, France On 4th May, 1916, 13th Essex of 6 Brigade, 2nd Division left their billets in Bully Grenay and moved into the front line trenches around Cite Calonne, facing Lens and Lievin, in France. They were either in the front line here or in support for the next 2 ½ weeks during which time 4 men were killed as a result of shell fire. One of these was James Bedford on 7th May. |
